2020 April Monthly Meeting — Online Event

In light of all that is happening in our industry, we want to be mindful of our community’s time and resources while still offering valuable monthly educational programs. Given that, AMPs is moving April’s in-person meeting to a lunchtime complimentary webinar to accommodate as many attendees as possible. 

Online Event: COVID-19 — Reshaping Associations, Hotels & Convention Centers

As COVID-19 Coronavirus continues to spread globally, impacting commerce and communities, AMPs is monitoring the situation and providing information and resources to our community. 

We have tapped an expert who will share what resources are available to you as we navigate how COVID-19 continues to impact our business and the economy. Topics will include:

– The meeting & event world has changed, what now?
– Force Majeure Clauses going forward
– Programs available to members (SBA/CARES Act)
– Business Interruption Insurance in this brave new world

Bryan Grimaldi is a lawyer with the national law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP, counseling corporate clients, trade associations, destination marketing organizations, and public-private partnerships (P3) nationwide providing industry-specific, cost effective, outside counsel services, operational consulting, and advocacy. He draws from his nearly 15 years as Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel at NYC & Company, Inc, New York City’s official marketing, tourism, and partnership organization, where he lead the organization on legal, business development, licensing, government relations, regulatory, and policy matters. Bryan provided strategic counsel and advised on matters that advanced the organization’s mission, while growing and protecting its funding streams. He is known for his work in the travel & tourism industry, government relations, not-for-profit management and public/private partnerships.

He previously served as General Counsel in the Mayor’s Office of International Affairs, where he provided legal counsel and support to city agencies and senior administration officials in dealings with the United Nations, foreign governments, diplomats, and federal agencies.

Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Mr. Grimaldi practiced law in the private sector where he represented several large investment firms and corporate clients engaged in securities lending and fixed income finance transactions, SEC compliance issues and management of corporate documentation.  

Mr. Grimaldi is on the Board of the Javits Convention Center Development Corporation and a Trustee of the Destinations International Foundation. He is also an appointee to the National Advisory Committee on Travel & Tourism Infrastructure.   A graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School he received his B.A. in Economics from NYU and resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and son.
